Our team is comprised of specialists who share their knowledge and experience with dedication, enthusiasm and passion. Together with our partners, we establish an inspiring space of garden art knowledge in the Sarny Castle.

Łukasz Przybylak

Chair of the Board, Eduard Petzold Foundation

 

Historic garden specialist. Graduate of landscape architecture (Warsaw University of Life Sciences). He has authored dozens of restoration and development studies for historic sites, including the castle park in Sarny. He has collaborated with the swiss landscape architecture studio in Berlin – VOGT Landschatsarchitekten and the company that is taking care over the historic sites in the central Germany – Brandenburgische Schlösser GmbH. From 2015 to 2021, he headed the Garden Department at the Museum of King Jan III’s Palace at Wilanów. Currently, he is a doctoral student at Dresden University of Technology. He runs his own design studio Hortus Excelsior and serves as an adviser on historic gardens to the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland.

He is the president of the European Route of Historic Gardens (ERHG) and a member of: the International Scientific Committee on Cultural Landscapes (ISCCL), the German Society for Garden Design and Cultural Landscapes (DGGL) – historic gardens working group, the Dresden Historical Society, the Association of Landscape Architecture – Poland (SAK) and the Association of Monument Conservation Specialists (SKZ).

Jacek Kuśmierski

Historic gardens specialist and a museum professional. Graduate of landscape architecture (Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences) and postgraduate studies in cultural management (Warsaw School of Economics), cultural diplomacy (Jagiellonian University) and museum studies (University of Warsaw). He has collaborated with design offices and institutions, such as the National Heritage Board of Poland and the Museum of Architecture in Wrocław. Currently, he is a doctoral student at the Cracow University of Technology and a historic gardens specialist for the Museum of King Jan III’s Palace at Wilanów. He is also a collaborator with the Sztuka krajobrazu – Joanna Kowalska design studio.

He is an independent collaborator of the European Route of Historic Gardens (ERHG) and a member of several organizations, including : the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), the International Council of Museums (ICOM), the Association of Monument Conservation Specialists (SKZ), the Association of Landscape Architecture – Poland (SAK), the Warsaw Branch of the Association of Polish Architects (OW SARP) and the Warsaw Branch of the Polish Association of Horticultural Engineers and Technicians (SITO NOT).
