Spring Design in the Secret Garden
The Mazovian Institute of Culture is reopening the gates of the Secret Garden at Elektoralna 12 and invites you to help awaken it from its winter slumber! Join us for a day filled with inspiring discussions, creative activities, and gardening joy.

On Sunday, May 11, at 12:00 PM, the Mazovian Institute of Culture will once again open the gates of the Secret Garden at Elektoralna 12 and breathe new life into it. We’ll talk about historic gardens and the garden’s role in shaping culture and community, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as explore contemporary design trends focused on biodiversity.
Our guests will include:
- Dominika Cieśla-Szymańska, translator of the book “The Garden Against Time: In Search of a Common Paradise” for Polish (Czarne Publishing, 2025),
- Dr. Mariusz Antolak, landscape architect from the “In The Landscape” Foundation,
- Łukasz Przybylak, M.Sc., landscape architect, historic garden specialist, and chai of the Eduard Petzold Foundation.
During the workshop, we’ll co-create a design for a biodiversity-friendly garden adapted to climate change. In the hands-on part, we’ll plant annual and perennial edible plants, designate a new area for mushroom cultivation, and decorate our planting boxes.
