European Day of Historic Gardens 2023
The 4th European Day of Historic Gardens was held this year under the theme ‘Europe of United Gardens’. On this occasion, we invited our visitors to join us for an outdoor lecture walk ‘Entire Europe within one garden’ led by Łukasz Przybylak in the Kamieniec Palace garden.
We celebrated the anniversary of the European Route of Historic Gardens, a non-profit association whose members are the Sarny Castle and the Kamieniec Palace. This year slogan ‘Europe of united gardens‘ was intended to encourage the search for links between our historic gardens regardless of their size and rank.
On this occasion, we invited our visitors for an outdoor lecture walk entitled ‘Entire Europe within one garden‘. The guided tour was led by Łukasz Przybylak, co-founder of the ECSO, vice-president of the European Route of Historic Gardens and designer of the Kamieniec Palace Garden restoration project.
During the walk, Łukasz will answered questions such as: what does the Kamieniec Palace have in common with the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte estate and garden designed by André Le Nôtre? What does the structure of the palace tell us about the former life of the farm and the shape of the palace garden? Is the style of the Kamieniec Palace garden closer to the former Kingdom of Prussia or to England? Which historic gardens of the Kłodzko Land have common features with the Kamieniec Palace garden?
We encourage you to download the special free publication ‘A Europe of United Gardens’, which was the inspiration for this year’s European Day of Historic Gardens theme.
